Fulham boss Marco Silva says his side have a point to prove when they face Coventry at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

It was a rare afternoon to forget for Fulham when they last played the Sky Blues, as they were beaten 4-1 at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

The Head Coach said: “That game against Coventry was one of the toughest moments for us, but it was one of the key moments for us; it was a moment for us to analyse and to understand why that happened.

“We have to focus on Sunday’s match, that will be most important for us. But definitely, as always, we have something to prove.

“We have to prove that we have the quality and desire to show a completely different image from that game six or seven months ago.

“The result’s still in our mind definitely, and we have to be completely different and win the game.”

While the Whites were without Tom Cairney and Neco Williams for Wednesday night’s win over Middlesbrough, there was positive news on their potential returns.

“Neco was (absent because of) a personal issue, he will definitely be available for the next one.

“We have one more session, let’s see how TC will be. We will have to see.”

Tim Ream is set to make his 250th appearance in a Fulham shirt, and Marco was full of praise for the long-serving defender.

“He’s having a fantastic season and his commitment and quality for the football club is showing every single week.

“Every single day, he’s a very good example for everyone inside our squad and doesn’t need to speak too much to be an example.

“Of course, [Middlesbrough] was another good performance from him. We kept a clean sheet and that was really important for the team.”

The wait for a return to Craven Cottage has been long, and Marco rounded off by saying how much he’s looking forward to hearing the home faithful.

“No-one can get success in football with just eleven players. Everyone is giving their best to give the conditions for these football players to perform as well as they can, and of course the fans are key for us.

“I said at the beginning of the season to be behind us, to be on the same page as us in the good and the bad moments and they are doing it.

“They are enjoying, for sure, the season that the football club is doing, not just because we’re getting results but the way we are playing.

“I hope after more than a month without home games, on Sunday I will expect a fantastic atmosphere in our stadium with the right noise to create a difficult scenario for our opposition and the best scenario for us.”
