Kevin Keegan has continued to dismantle Sam Allardyce's surviving army of backroom staff at Newcastle.

Nigel Pearson, the assistant manager, and Mark Taylor,head of sports medicine, left earlier this month and there were two further casualties yesterday when Mark Howard, the conditioning coach, and Gavin Fleig, the ProZone expert, left St James' Park.

Although Keegan is not certain to abandon the ProZone system, he has the option of using the rival computerised player and game analysis offered by Amsico Pro Sports.

Glenn Roeder, Allardyce's predecessor, installed Amsico at Newcastle about a year ago when the club signed a two-year contract.
