The Championship clash between Reading and Newcastle has become the latest fixture to be postponed because of the bad weather.

The Royals were due to host the runaway leaders at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday but with heavy snowfall around the match has been called off due to safety concerns.

A statement from Reading said: "Our supporters' safety is absolutely paramount and we have made what we see as the most sensible and professional decision.

"With considerable ice and snow both inside and outside the stadium there was little option but to postpone the game."
