Tomas Rosicky will miss Arsenal's Barclays Premier League match with Newcastle because
of a hamstring problem.
The Czech winger, though, is not expected to be a long-term absentee. Theo Walcott
is ready to fill in again on the right against the Magpies, who were beaten 3-0
in the
FA Cup at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Manuel Almunia should return in goal, along with full-back Bacary Sagna. However,
striker Robin van Persie (thigh), midfielder Denilson (hamstring) and defender Johan Djourou (groin) are all still sidelined while
Kolo Toure, Emmanuel
Eboue and Alex Song are on international duty at the African Nations Cup.
Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton will return to the squad after his bail conditions
were altered.
The 25-year-old will be included among the substitutes as the Magpies make their
second visit to the Emirates Stadium in four days.
However, striker Mark Viduka will not travel south with manager Kevin Keegan having
decided to give him more time to recover from his calf injury ahead of Sunday's
derby clash with former club Middlesbrough.
Midfielder Emre completes his three-match ban while Habib Beye, Abdoulaye Faye,
Geremi and Obafemi Martins are away on African Nations Cup duty.
