Newcastle's relegation fight has been hit with James Milner ruled out until April.

The Toon star is expected to be sidelined for up to three weeks after injuring his foot in the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Milner, 22, is vital for Newcastle as they attempt to drag themselves away from the dropzone.

Boss Kevin Keegan said: "James will definitely miss Birmingham on Monday.

"We will know more on Monday but we could be looking at two to three weeks.

"He's got a protective boot on his foot at the moment but there is no break.

"He took a heck of a whack when he kicked Lucas' foot.

"But he's a young, fit lad and he'll be back before the end of the season."
